Streak-Free Interior Window Cleaning

StreakFree Interior Window Cleaning

The inside of your windows can get just as dirty and grimy as the outside–miscellaneous marks from kids’ fingers, pets’ noses, natural dust, and more accumulate on the Interior Window Cleaning. But unlike the outside, it’s often not as difficult to keep your windows clean and streak-free, especially if you’re equipped with Pella’s between-the-glass window treatments, which are tucked between the panes of glass and protected from most debris.

Streak-Free Interior Window Cleaning for a Polished Finish

Using a lint-free microfiber cloth and the simple homemade cleaner recipe below, you’ll find it’s easy to clean your interior windows without leaving behind smudges or streaks. Just be sure to squirt your glass cleaner directly onto the cloth, rather than on the windows themselves, so you don’t splash or drip solution on your window frames.

In a spray bottle, combine 1/4 cup of rubbing alcohol and 2-3 Tbsp of distilled white vinegar. Secure the lid and shake thoroughly to combine. You can also add a little bit of dish soap (we recommend a mild formula, like Dawn) to this DIY glass cleaner for added grease-defeating power and a fresh, pleasant scent. The rubbing alcohol helps the cleaning solution evaporate quickly on glass surfaces, which reduces the chance of water spots or streaks. For a stronger cleaner, increase the ratio of rubbing alcohol to vinegar. Be sure to test a small area of your glass or mirror surface first to ensure the solution won’t damage it.
